The Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us that “by the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of the priests the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them” (CCC 1514). The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is for anyone who is seriously ill or who is preparing for major surgery. Annointing of the sick is on the 1st Saturday of each month after the 5 p.m. Mass.
