The Eucharist is the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ, and is the “source and summit of the Christian life”. Here at St. Mary’s, First Communion takes place when a child is in the second year of catechism and in either 2nd grade or beyond. Preparation for the Sacrament occurs either in St. Mary’s Sunday School.
Children should be enrolled in Sunday School in September in order to be prepared for First Communion in the spring.
